Mercury, a common component in fluorescent lamps, is a neurotoxin that is released into the air or ground water from landfills and can be ingested by living organisms. At high concentrations, this can be very dangerous and can harm the developing brains of children and infants. In adults, exposure can lead to memory loss and affect fertility and blood pressure. Environmental threat and EPA regulations require fluorescent lamp recycling.
A fluorescent lamp consists of a glass shell, a high vacuum, a small amount of liquid mercury and evaporated mercury, some phosphor powder, metal end-caps and heated filaments. A single 4 ft. fluorescent tube contains anywhere from 5 to 50 mg. of mercury. When lamps are sent to landfills, or especially when incineration is used as an alternative disposal method, mercury vapors are released that can travel over 200 miles!

This program is typically used by smaller facilities or facilities where storage is limited. The program is simple, requires little paperwork and is a practical option for facilities nationwide.
EasyPak containers have instructions, complete with illustrations, printed on them to make recycling as easy as possible. The price includes everything you need – the container, shipping to the recycling center via FedEx Ground, recycling fees and certificates of recycling.
The BulbEater not only crushes spent fluorescent lamps of any length into 100% recyclable material, it also minimizes the need for storage and risk of breakage.
The system, which is mounted to a 55-gallon container, can hold up to 1350 4' fluorescent lamps. This allows for relatively large quantities of lamps to be stored without using much storage space.
We offer recycling services and transportation throughout the continental United States to help our customers properly recycle lamps, ballasts, batteries and electronics. These wastes are palletized and shrink wrapped prior to pick-up.
These are great for properties with large quantities of waste and enough available storage space for at least one pallet to be stored.
